Paediatric Special Interest Group

The Irish Paediatric Renal Nurses Special Interest Group is comprised of nurses from the renal units at the Childrens University Hospital, Temple Street, Our Lady’s Hospital, Crumlin and The Sick Childrens Hospital, Belfast.

The aim of the group is to collaboratively develop evidence based guidelines for care of children with renal disease and promote the speciality of paediatric renal nursing.

The group is affiliated to the Irish Nephrology Nurses Association as well as the British Association of Paediatric Nephrology Nursing Special Interest Group.

Anaemia Special Interest Group

The Anaemia Special Interest Group is comprised of nephrology nurses working in the area of anaemia management in Irish renal dialysis units and is affiliated to the Irish nephrology Nurses Association.

This group has made representation to the Department of Health and Children in support of the review on nurse prescribing.

The aim of the group is

• To clarify and enhance the role of nurses working in anaemia Management
• To provide a forum for sharing best practice and keeping abreast of new developments
• To provide a resource for nurses in their professional development
• To encourage research specific to this role
